| 00:07 | name is Pauline, I'm Natasha and we are your co-host for career re shap now I know |
| 00:10 | that we have not been doing this podcast for very long but it doesn't mean that |
| 00:15 | we're not proud and it doesn't mean that we don't want to share with you our 2024 |
| 00:21 | highlights we've had some amazing guests and we're really proud of each one of |
| 00:26 | them and we believe that they've given some great tips and advice for for you |
| 00:30 | and for us there's been things we've learned along the way so we wanted to |
| 00:33 | highlight them and share them with you and recap everything in a nice little |
| 00:38 | Christmas gift for the end of the year pretty pretty B so I just started |
| 00:41 | talking to people talking to a friend of a friend who ended up becoming a friend |
| 00:45 | that was interesting to me I thought it was quite exciting it's something |
| 00:49 | different all the time right you're going around to different places |
| 00:52 | something new and so I like the idea of it so I just thought you know let me try |
| 00:55 | to pursue that you know as long as you're having conversations and you're |
| 00:58 | open to what people are you know advising or you know just talking to you |
| 01:01 | about or who you can meet then quite often that will lead to Opportunities |
| 01:05 | and it's up to you whether you take those opportunities or not the biggest |
| 01:08 | thing I would say is that if you're looking to go on your own be realistic |
| 01:11 | about your expectations understand your strengths and weaknesses understand what |
| 01:15 | value you bring to the market and What Makes You differ and understand |
| 01:18 | your why have very very clear goals for what you want to do and Achieve believe |
| 01:23 | in yourself and there'll be hard times and there'll be there'll be good times |
| 01:26 | and you know you ride them both it was when I was like 23 I just decided |
| 01:29 | decided to go backpacking I bought one my ticket to Grace and just left I |
| 01:34 | didn't see daylight for months and I got very depressed I also did get diagnosed |
| 01:39 | with like ADHD halfway through which was the best thing that ever happened to me |
| 01:44 | I don't know if I'd still be alive if I didn't because I'd never been good with |
| 01:48 | school because IID always struggled with everything and no one had ever kind of |
| 01:52 | taught me how to do a lot of these things I kind of had to relearn how to |
| 01:55 | do a lot of these things I've never met a teacher who's not just going above and |
| 01:58 | beyond I'm not saying that they're then burn out and then get a little bit |
| 02:01 | resentful over things but I've never ever met someone who isn't there for the |
| 02:05 | right reasons and I've never ever met a school leader who's not trying to look |
| 02:08 | after their staff but at the end of the day strong relationships is key A lot of |
| 02:13 | people right now can feel incredibly demotivated they spent a good part of |
| 02:18 | 2024 looking for work and they haven't been successful if you need to take the |
| 02:23 | time out take the time out work will always be there it is always and forever |
| 02:30 | flowing instead of saying I want to improve my leadership skills you have to |
| 02:35 | change that into a smart goal specific measurable achievable relevant and time |
| 02:42 | bound I know if I'm going to stay in that job I'm going to be more and more |
| 02:46 | miserable in my head it was now or never sort of a situation and I just asked |
| 02:52 | myself if I want to feel this way I quit that job these are the skills that I can |
| 02:58 | monetize basically you are your brand like we're reaching 2025 if you have to |
